NZ Pharmacy Screening
Operational data from pharmacy-based cardiovascular health screenings across New Zealand.
The Detection Gap in Practice
From our operational data across thousands of completed screenings, approximately 30% of individuals screened by CardiAction had clinically meaningful central haemodynamic findings despite presenting with normal brachial blood pressure. These are individuals a standard blood pressure check would have cleared as healthy.
When including heart rate abnormalities and irregular heartbeat detection, 40% of all people screened had at least one clinically relevant finding that would not have been detected by a standard blood pressure check.

The Pharmacy Model
Screenings have been delivered through more than 100 pharmacy locations across New Zealand in partnership with Health Screening NZ, with 83% of participants identified as moderate or elevated and 33% with elevated findings referred to their GP for follow-up. The pharmacy model demonstrates that accessible, community-based cardiovascular screening can identify at-risk individuals who would otherwise go undetected.
The data speaks for itself
Standard screening misses what matters. CardiAction fills the gap.
