Why Central Blood Pressure Matters
Research published in Hypertension (AHA), the Journal of the American College of Cardiology, and the European Journal of Preventive Cardiology consistently demonstrates that central blood pressure correlates more strongly with target organ damage and cardiovascular events than brachial readings.
Central blood pressure is the pressure experienced by the heart, brain, and kidneys. Two people can present with identical arm-cuff readings yet have materially different central haemodynamics and arterial function.
Pulse Wave Analysis Technology
The Uscom BP+ device captures central haemodynamic parameters from a standard arm cuff using suprasystolic oscillometry. Validated against the gold standard of invasive catheter measurement of central aortic blood pressure.
It is believed to be the only commercial device globally to meet the International ARTERY Society Task Force's strict central blood pressure measurement accuracy criteria. TGA-registered (ARTG 254498). FDA-cleared.

Online PredictionIndependently Validated by Griffith University
The PreScreen online estimation model has been independently validated by Dr Zang and Professor Ware at Griffith University's Biostatistics Unit with a correlation of R=0.785 (P<0.001) against actual clinical measurements, and an average margin of error of 8.8% across 935 data points from multiple healthcare settings.
Note: This validation applies specifically to the PreScreen estimation model. ProScreen uses the TGA-registered, FDA-cleared Uscom BP+ device for direct measurement.
