Pulse Wave Analysis Technology
How suprasystolic oscillometry enables non-invasive measurement of central haemodynamic parameters.
Suprasystolic Oscillometry
The Uscom BP+ device inflates a standard arm cuff above systolic pressure and then analyses the pressure waveforms as the cuff slowly deflates. By capturing the arterial pulse wave at suprasystolic pressure, the device can derive central aortic pressure waveforms without the need for invasive catheterisation.
Validation Against Gold Standard
The BP+ has been validated against the gold standard of invasive catheter measurement of central aortic blood pressure. It is believed to be the only commercial device globally to meet the International ARTERY Society Task Force's strict central blood pressure measurement accuracy criteria.
What It Captures
- Central systolic blood pressure (cSBP)
- Augmented pressure and augmentation index
- Central pulse pressure
- Brachial systolic and diastolic blood pressure
- Heart rate and irregular heartbeat detection
Regulatory Status
The Uscom BP+ is TGA-registered (ARTG 254498) and FDA-cleared. The CardiAction platform itself is TGA-exempt as a wellness/screening tool.
